More christmas cards

Hiya

I have been busy making some more Christmas cards.  This time I have used the Crafters Companion Christmas Embossing folder with the Christmas words.  I've also used Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners Ivy stamp and die set and the poinsettia die from Crafters Companion.

Sorry about the middle picture.  For some reason I can't get it to rotate round but I hope you get the gist!  

I have embossed the Christmas words onto black (or white) card.  Then I have used Pebeo silver or gold gilding wax to bring out the letters and cut white or red parchment using the poinsettia with silver, red or gold glitter.

The dreaded 'C' word!!

Hello again

I've finally realised I have to start making some cards for Christmas!  I know its only August but needs must, especially when I've got so many to make.

These two use the same Woodware stamp but I have coloured one using the monochrome technique, using my Promarker pens and the other one using the Promarker pens but colouring them in the traditional colours.

Here is another Woodware stamp coloured using the same principle. 

I also used Crafters' Companion ivy Die'sire die.

I do like the monochrome effect.  I think it looks quite sophisticated!!

Some number cards

Hello, me again

I have been making quite a few 'number' cards for children from 1 - 10.  I have been lucky enough to have sold some of them as well.

Here are a few I have done recently and I shall gradually be posting more as I go along, so I hope you don't get bored!  These ones are using the Faye Whittaker 'All our Yesterdays' stamps.  I couldn't resist buying them all when they came out a few years ago and I have used them regularly through the years.  

I went to a tutorial by my very talented friend Lynn Cooper in which she used these stamps but coloured them in monochrome colours.  I have used this idea on many of the stamps as I think it matches the nostalgia of 'yesteryear'.

Another birthday

Hiya

Second blog - doing well.

It was my younger son's birthday at the beginning of August.  He is a very keen DIY fan.  He has made such a lot of brilliant things - he's very clever, even if I say so myself!  As you all know birthday cards for men are very difficult and I thought and thought what I could do for his card.

As luck would have it I had bought the Cascading Card template from Paula Walters Designs in Doncaster, having seen it demonstrated on Create and Craft recently.  I made a small one and a larger one, as per the templates and this is the bigger of the two.  Flicking through my magazines and papers I came across Making Cards for Men magazine dated 2011 and would you believe it,   it had a whole page of DIY tools and screws!

I spent a long time cutting everything out but I do think it was worth it.  The photos are not brilliant I'm afraid but I think you can see the idea.  

I do like the template and I've seen examples using flowery paper with roses etc and they look absolutely stunning and so different so I shall be using it again.

How time has flown

Hello everyone

I cannot believe the last time I blogged was my son's wedding in July, 2013! My goodness doesn't time fly?

Since then such a lot has happened so I shall gradually blog all the changes that have happened as I am determined to start blogging regularly again.  Let's hope I manage to keep my mid season resolution!

I think I shall blog backwards - typical me - and show you some cards I have just recently made.

This one I made for my granddaughter's birthday in Australia

  

This is the Rosie stamp from Crafters' Companion Scruffy Little Kitten range, coloured in using my watercolour pencils.  I also used Sheena Douglas embossing folder and the Embossalicious large dotted folder.  The paper is from the Scruffy Little Kitten CD and I used Glossy Accents for the puddle and the raindrops. The Happy Birthday stamp is one I bought in Australia.
